MLS Cup Final
Venue: Qwest Field, Seattle Date: Monday, 23 November 2009
Kick-off: 0130 GMT (Sunday 8.30pm, USA Eastern time)
Coverage: Live on ESPN

David Beckham never considered leaving LA Galaxy, despite being booed on his return from a loan spell at AC Milan. The 34-year-old England midfielder is back in favour with Galaxy fans after leading his side to Sunday's MLS Cup final against Real Salt Lake.

"No, not at all, never," Beckham replied when asked if he had considered returning to Europe permanently.

"I always committed myself to the MLS, the Galaxy owner and the franchise. I always said I would see it through."

Beckham missed the first half of the MLS season after extending his stay at AC Milan, and on his return, found sections of the home fans at the Home Depot Center had turned against him.

"There have always been ups and downs - that's the way it is, that's life"

A book featuring unflattering remarks about the former England captain by Galaxy team-mate Landon Donovan did not help.

But ahead of Sunday's final, Beckham said: "There's never a smooth road. There are always a few bumps along the way and there has been.

"But that's kind of been my career. There have always been ups and downs - more ups than downs but that's the way it is, that's life."

Beckham will return to Milan for a second loan spell in January as he looks to secure a place in the England squad for the 2010 World Cup.

For now, he is focused on helping the Galaxy in the MLS Cup final, which will decide the league title.

"At the end of the day we've done well this season, but we still haven't won anything," stated Beckham.

"We might have won in our division, but it means nothing; you want to win everything. So that's what we're going for."

Beckham's side, head into the final as favourites against Salt Lake, who only just made the play-offs by finishing fifth in the Western Conference.
