Thinking

Does anyone have researched material on parthenogenesis? I know it is well established fact that some animals i.e Sharks can reproduce with male intervention. However is that naturally possible in humans?

We do at least have 1 example of virgin human birth of Hadhrat Esa (A.S). Does female body have capability to reproduce without male? If it had happen once could it happen again?

Perhaps a recent experiment on rat virgin reproduction open door to more answers:

none

This reminds me of the episode of House where he convinced a couple that this had happened to them (as the girl was lying that she hadn't cheated on her husband) and then he was like HAR HAR I'm lying youse are stupid.

It's not naturally possible in mammals, if it were, the offspring would have to female (exact clone of the mother).

OMG!!!

Aggressive

from wikipedia ..
Quote:
Induced parthenogenesis in mice and monkeys often results in abnormal development. This is because mammals have imprinted genetic regions, where either the maternal or the paternal chromosome is inactivated in the offspring in order for development to proceed normally. A mammal created by parthenogenesis would thus have double doses of maternally imprinted genes and lack paternally imprinted genes, leading to developmental abnormalities if any were present in the genes of the mother. As a consequence, research on human parthenogenesis is focused on the production of embryonic stem cells for use in medical treatment, not as a reproductive strategy.
so, altho possible but perfect results are still distant.
