I havent visited it in a while. I hate that pholan and her top ten video article, although that is the one best thing to visit that site, but she kills it with her discrepancies. Any video on the 2nd and 1st slot earns her praise and anything before that is thrashed like there is no tomorrow but what's even more stupid is that the same videos that were praised last month because they were on the 2nd and 1st slot are now being thrashed in the new issue 'cuz they're on 6th or 7th slot.
I'd tolorate all that but her sense of humor is like rubbing salt on the wounds. Lady, cut the crap. You're no queen.

Thats besides the point now that the site is n more! I enjoyed Phoolan's commentary and she ONLY liked acant garde low budget types. But WHAT attitude! Her articles were quite enjoyable.
it was a very good site. they published some really well written stuff. their last (Mar) issue was perhaps the best I read. they had a couple of interviews of some very talented people. it's quite unfortunate that they called it a day 'cause they were doing a fantastic job of promoting our music. same thing happened to karachiunderground. hmm..
I hope someone else will see this as an opportunity to do some good work.
I agree...what happened to bandbaja ? It was one of the most professional looking and modern looking websites done by pakistanis in a long while. The articles were pretty good also.
Its sad that something that good has not lasted longer.
I hope someone else creates another website dedicated to pakistani music of the same caliber.

I know some of the people running it, and their knowledge of music was pathetic. They used to make blunders such as last month they claimed Abrar's Billo came out in 1998. Furthermore, it was basically being used for EP advertizing, and you will be surprised to know who owned the domain
However, it seems like an April Fool's joke to me, even though the idiots did it on the 2nd.

I am not talking about the editor (if youre referring to that nfp character), I am talking about the person who owns the site. And I know all the chumps who are the so called editors of the site, who were constantly bickering with each other. As for their blunder about Abrar, did you even know how they reacted when it was pointed out to them? Bandbaja was nothing more than an EP promotion site. So, its time you get your info right.

i wasnt talking about nfp, nor is nfp one of the original people in bandbaja. im talking about omer tariq, someone i was college friends with for four years, who is the editor in chief of that site.
its the height of pigheadedness when you tell me that you "know" the person im talking about and refer to him as a chump.
i dont give a rats ass what they said to you when your whiny little ass dragged itself into their mailbox and pestered them with tedious minutaie. it seems that they set you in your place, and im glad they did.
it doesnt matter squat who owns the site, if you cannot back up your claims of it being a promotional site with specific instances of misplaced journalistic integrity, you're just a miserable feckwit who makes serious and demeaning claims about professional people who handle the serious burden of maintaining a VERY high quality music magazine in addition to their professional work burden, without any material benefit.

Oh, and last time bandbaja was reviewing Junoons new album, they spent more lines talking about their album ishq Amazing criticism. Now go and take your head out of tariqs bottom and get a dose of reality. And dont assume I emailed those amateur critics, I dont need to prove to them when Abrar's billo came out, but what was pathetic was the fact that they were defending that mistake of theirs publicly. Good riddance to bad trash.
Lastly, mods, please take a note of the language this creature is using, I have it in bold for you. We dont need filth here.
I guess instead of bickering about specific bands, the larger picture should be looked at - the fact that the site was doing a very good job promoting indigenous Pakistani music, be that Ali Zafar or be that EP or be that Junoon - the fact that they were all there on the site and being talked about was something very positive. As far as 'promotion' of a specific band is concerned I dont believe that was the case, and in any way reviews DO NOT mould public opinion. Albums like Rushk's Sawal got rave reviews from critics practically EVERYWHERE but the album was a big dud commercially. So let's just keep personal opinions in the background and see the bigger picture.
