Guys, did anyone watch him? Syed Talat Husain, the leading current affairs compere currently associated with ARY prepared a special Defense Day documentary for his weekly program 'Aamna Saamna' aired on 6th Sep. It was about the history, legacy and current preparedness of the PAF and was shot at the PAF base Sargodha (Mushaf). He interviewed the officers, showed us old video footage from 1965, analysis of famous air battles like that of M.M Alam and Rafiqui and then they show him sitting in the office of the Base Commander Air Commodore Faaiz Amir signing a document that said that he was boarding an F16 at his own free will and risk and that in case of any mishap no one would be responsible at all. He signed the document with a number of officers standing around him and then he had a slight medical check up to see if he is fit enough to handle the strain of an F-16 ride, and then he got into the Gsuit, wore the helmet, and the Base Commander took him to the F-16 himself, it was the 2 seater version of course and he took a camera with him, he was told not to touch anything and that in case anything went wrong seriously he would just have to pull the ejection lever.
The base commander took the aircraft out to taxi and then took off! for the first time in Pakistan's history a civilian flew in a fighter aircraft, that too an F16! The Air Commodore even did a few loops and rolls and Talat Husain appeared breathless and said he had lost all sense of direction, on landing he appeared stunned and strained, while the base commander who was defnitely older than Talat and perhaps in his 50s was out of the plane before talat and looked perfectly fresh and alert. Talat said this work not only required excellent physical strength and health but equally excellent mental strength and health. indeed fighter pilots are a breed apart and our PAF fighters are definite legends. It was a great idea by Talat Husain, was enjoyed by the viewrs alot and a great step towards more interaction among the forces and civilians.
Hats off to Talat Husain!

^ It was all due to G-forces. Tallat Husain is quite tuff guy mentally.
The experience of flying in a fighter plane is out of the world for anyone.
our oper se F16. Hum tu door se dekh ke hi khush ho jatey hain
Even airforce dont allow any trainee pilot the taste of fighter untill they pass through rigoress training of several years.
Waisay not fighter plane but you can fly in other trainer jets if any of you mama chacha is in air force

Yes ofcourse he passed the tests(not actually test more like a medical check-up) and he signed the document that he wont sue PAF in case he lose his mental balance or fracture some of his bones.
Seriously these are some realities. After all F16 is no BMW. It is an extreme machine and one hell of a ride

i'm kool,
it shouldnt be misleading, ppl who know who Talat Husain is and have knowledge about what the F-16 is all about and what fighter flying is, would know what the catchy title is about, no one can wake up one morning and fly the falcon..
ggg,
thanks for making it clear to readers.

yeah code,
true even among all fighter pilots the best are chosen for the F16, and that happens after years and years of experience, perhaps 8-10yrs of fighter flying experience.
man, what a machine it is, if only i could fly it!
is it really possible to go for rides in other trainers if we know pilots? is the PAF ok with it? you ever done it?
