Asslamu alikum! readers, first of all I must clear that I am not reviewing the movie, We all know that KTSK is Reema's wonderfull contribution for our film industry.
Please read the review carefully b4 going to get your copy. The DVD/VCD is out in market but a real time upset. Basically after "Salakhain" released by GEO, I was xpecting KTSK to be released by GEO, & if they have realsed, it would have digital print.
But unfortunatly it is released by Moviebox UK (in both UK & PK) & distributed by local distributors in Pakistan.
The Quality is very low, its not at all origninal DVD/VCD. They have followed the
same old Pakistani film industry culture. Instead of releasing orignal digital
print exposed for mini screens they have recorded the movie in CINEMA & released it.
I really dont know, when our filmi people will release that if they have invested
to exposed the digital prints, why not they release on DVD/VCD's . There is not a single special feature in DVD. The VCD format of that CINEMA RECORDED print is compressed badly, so the noise constantly interupts.
Such bad release of DVD/VCD is of no use. So If n e person can tell this to Reema or other associated persons...so do tell them.
Please, now we should add special feature in DVD's atleast.
Here I must add one interesting thing, that local distributors have added the
teaser of stupid valgut punjabi stage drama in mid of the movie, thats really again discusting factor of DVD/VCD.
I have xperienced this in PK, if n e one has views he must add here.
I have shown KTSK in CINEMA to around 25-30 people with me, to let them c the quality product by Reema Khan, But still i need to show that many thats y I was waiting for its DVD/VCD release, but such bad release can not serve my plans.
regards,

Even the "best" of Pakistani films lately have been utter trash and have not matched up to the best that Pakistanis CAN produce.
Reason being there is a great deal of bias, corruption, favoritism, politics, and punjabi-ism when it comes to Pakistani films.
The reason why the music industry and the TV industry is doing much better is because people are openly competing in these fields, and they are known to not have as much corruption. You can't expect an media industry to do well in Pakistan if it provides such an environment that respectable people are afraid of sending their daughters to work in.
Because decent people don't work in the film industry much, most Pakistanis don't want to watch it.
Plus, there is wayyyyy too much nudity and sexual scenes in Pakistani movies. I know Pakistanis could do better without the sexual appeal. I'd rather spend some other way of spending my time than watching a guy old enough to be my uncle feeling up on some fat punjabi actress.I believe in dragons, good men, and other fantasy creatures.

Well its quite obvious some are gettin too arrogant in here and bringing in the whole notion of ethnic domination into films, which is pretty retarded anyway coz' the theatres are open to anyone who makes a decent film, you can't blame if only a specific culture, however crude it may be, gets through. If the educated and enlightened want to make films, the ground is absolutely open to them. We've been waiting for them to do that for a long long time and they've always failed. For example only in 2003 did we have the Karachiite Fahim Burney making his Pyar Hi Pyar Mein which was even worse than what the regular Lahoris like Syed Noor have been churning out. Then you have an endless list of folks like Rauf Kahlid, Zeba Bakhtiar, Samina Peerzada, all non-Punjabis, and their films failed first of all in the cosmopolitian, "educated" kaarchi before anywhere else. It's easy enough to dish out blame, quite another to face the realities.

I have to disagree with that. Samina Peerzada's Inteha was awesome. And the reason why she didn't make another film after that, despite tentative plans, was because she complained about how the Lahore mafia did everything they could to stop her and cause problems for her and her crew during Inteha. She also cited that some movies need to be made in Karachi and elsewhere.
I also felt the same way, thinking that its only common sense that if the corruption is that deep, make a new production house somewhere else, and provide competition. Movies made in Islamabad, Karachi, and Peshawar (Peshawar by the way does have a budding art scene), could be part of the answer.
And don't tell me that punjabi-ism doesn't exist. Ethnocentricism is a BIG part of Pakistan's problems. In most of Pakistan's industries.
The reasons why the other director's you cited didn't do well, are the same reasons I cited. Too much garam masala, not enough attention to story line. People think that by making an Indian-copy of a movie, they're going to revive the industry. What is needed is objective creativity. Creativity under the influence of no other factor other than creativity itself.
No one in Pakistan wants to invest money in something as risky as a Pakistani using their own God darn brain. So, therefore, masala is invested in and masala makes a dirty mess in theatres.I believe in dragons, good men, and other fantasy creatures.
