The film was good, did moderate business and critics liked it too. Why she disappeared from film industory ? I think she is quite talented lady and should make films

she make film after inteha dont remember the name of the movie which has that song of ali zafar jugnuoon say bhar lay aanchal.
"The death from which you flee will truly overtake you: then you will be sent back to the Knower of things secret and open: and He will tell you (the truth of) the things that you did!" (Surat al-Jumu'ah: 8).

Hang on...Inteha was a major success and not just a 'moderate' hit! However, Samina Peerzada didn't make a penny out of the film; Mandviwalla Entertainment, the distributors of the film, actually ran away with all the proceeds. Peerzada even took them to court. They managed to more than double their investment in the film, as it did very well at the theatres.
She did make 'Shararat' but while making that film she ran into problems with the producers again. It was a pretty rural oriented film and not at all like Inteha. I mean, from its songs and trailers it didnt seem as if she had actually directed it.
Having said that, Samina Peerzada definitely needs to make another film in the same mould as Inteha. She had some fantastic music, good acting from mostly newbie actors and a decent script to back her up there. We need to see more of her films definitely.

Prolly to make some cash and keep her face on the screen. Women watch that sort of crap - reason why those stupid dramas are still being made. Hence it keeps her as a household name.
I remember in one interview she was talking about grand plans of a new movie that would be mostly produced/made/shot in Karachi, because she said that there were too many problems with the Lollywood gunda gardi-mafia type in Lahore. She was talking about how sincere film-makers need to stop trying to do their film productions in Lahore, just because Lahore has a history of film-making, because there's just so much corruption now. I forget the name of the movie she was planning - had a historical type name to it. I'm not sure if she's going to go through with it, but people are planning and making small-scale movies here and there especially with the success of Khuda Ke Liye.

Mandliwala is quite a popular name in distributions. I dont know how much is truth and what is gossip. Anyways, Samina herself belongs to a very strong media group Rafi peer group. These people Make huge waves every year and doing wornders.

Khuda ke leye was not a small scale movie. It was a big budget movie shot in britian and USA along with pakistan and had foreign actors. With this movie Shoab mansoor took the risk of same magnitude as Mell Gibson when he made Passion of the Christ.
Anyway, they should not make small scale movie. There should decent movie with a handsome budget ...afterall we see tv dramas with huge budgets every where so why should the film be on small scale. A Feature film is representative of country cinematic image

Hm...depending on what you compare it to - for a Pakistani movie, the budget was big, yes. I still don't know whether he made any profit on it. He was worried about paying off the bank loans he took out for it.
I'm talking about other ventures, like Botal Gali and Hell's Ground, etc - they're small budgeted, but good quality entertainment vs. ... what's next in line? Big-Arse Jutt or Big Butt Gujjar?

damn i'm so missing decent pakistani movies like inteha....it is probably the only movie in the last 20 years or so (besides Khuda Ke Liye) that doesn't have the paindoo feel and idiotic comedy to it.

as i remember samina did mention the reason for not making movies in her show sunday lounge from ptv . She said it was the lack of cinemas and ppl not going for the left over cinemas for watching movies so she is not making any movies.
