and keep it close to the American or British version. I wonder who will play the manager, or the assistant to the regional manager.

Pakistani comedy these days is limited to making funny noises and faces and all the characters have to be extremely dumb in order for them to b funny! So, I dont know if they are still capable of making a comedy that will revolve around a bit exaggerated everyday office situations. Also, character development is truly lacking in Pakistani comedies, which is a big part of a show like The Office.

Pakistani comedy isnt sophisticated enough, they still rely on stupid make-up n stuff. The acting is still exaggerated even in standard dramas, The office is based on reality.

Because so much original thought is going behind the original shows GEO and Ary are making. Hey look, another drama about tawaifs, or unhappy couple, or more pretty people with pretty problems.

I've been a fan of "The Office" for a while... and I don't think that brand of humor would fly in Pakistan. quality Pakistani humor historically has been based in tanz/sarcasm. the kind of uncomfortable, awkward humor that is the trademark of The Office won't work in Pakistan, imo. ppl just won't get it or appreciate it.
and I'm talking about the watered-down US version of the show here. the British version was very difficult to watch even for me despite being a fan of the US show. it's difficult to see a man embarrass himself as badly as does Ricky Gervais' character.

I think Pakistani comedy has imporved a lot in the last few years but again that'll depend on who is going to write and direct it. A writer like Dr. Younus butt can glow the whole series otherwise the whole idea will be spoiled.
And one more thing on a side note, the office is very interesting but different kinda series. And that is the reason not every one can get that much interested in it. You gotto hv a specific sense of humor for that.
No matter how good you get you can always get better and that's the exciting part. -- Tiger Woods

omg... so, you think Pakistani comedy has "improved" because of "writers" like daaktar Younis Butt?
and you think daaktar Younis Butt can write something like "The Office"? wow...
man, either I'm a retard or Pakistani comedy has gone to hell...
RIP Pakistani comedy...
Pakistani comedy passed away today after a long struggle with awful writers, hack directors and unappreciative audiences. Pak comedy lived a life full of glorious highs (Fifty Fifty, Angan Terha, Studio Dhai, Eid Train, Half Plate, Mirza and sons, Guest House, Ankahi, etc).
Pak comedy went into coma a few years ago when daaktar Younis Butt started writing "comedy" on his awful show "Hum Sab Retards Hain" (or something like that) much to everyone's horror. Pakistani comedy fought hard and struggled for its life but eventually the disease that are unfunny, untalented "writers" like daaktar Younis Butt managed to overwhelm Pakistani comedy and the poor thing could not carry on any more.
Pakistani comedy passed away peacefully among loved ones. Pak comedy leaves behind many devoted fans, mourners and a handful of good shows like the 4 Man Show and Hasb-e-haal.
RIP again, Pak comedy. you are sorely missed.
