Advice on Visiting Toronto

I'm going to see an old friend of mine in Toronto for two days and I want to see the city and have a good time, can anyone recommend must-visit places and things to do?

How is public transportation there? Is the downtown worth visiting?

Tums Its a good place .. although There are some other threads like this one but still welcome here in Toronto ... Public Transit is not too bad ... And Its not a good time to visit (winter) .. There are some historic buildings in Downtown ... My favourite activity is to explore the restaurants and you will find a lot of them .. DOnt go to Mississauga , Brampton or hmmm Malton .. Hmmm I've been to Mosport race track and other summer places like that but nothing comes in my mind about the winter places ..........
