So far ...

Canadians think that they are somehow ‘nicer’ than Americans and I have been asked several times if I can feel the difference. Honestly, I can't ... it is pretty much the same.

Most traffic lights are dumb(er than even my village town). It takes them a couple of minutes to realize you are at the intersection then a few more to actually change. Some traffic lights change even when there is no need.

After spending two days driving around in Downtown and Scarborough area, I pretty much know my way around at least these parts of town. Still have Mississauga & Brampton to explore. In other words, it is easy to find your way around Toronto.

Saw several Home Depots but I haven’t spotted a Lowe’s store yet.

McDonalds here does not serve egg and cheese biscuits, only egg and cheese bagel or English muffin.

Gas prices fluctuate throughout the day with a + - 10 cent difference. Generally gas is expensive at dawn and cheaper by dusk. And I have no idea why they go by liters and kilometers. It is annoying.

Canadians don’t have any real heroes of their own and so they plaster the English Queen on all their currency, which by the way is very colorful. And no paper dollar bills, which is good!

I know that you believe that you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

We don't have Lowe's in Canada, nor we need heros. We beat the hell of Americans in 1840s and thats still enough to be proud by a nation who has no warfare ambitions. Also we don't rely on other countries oil. And yes Canadians are by far politer than their southern neighbours.

AJ: u shud've said that during the meet darpok!
like smoothy says: we are peace loving nation. we dont have or support wars, hence there is no need for heroes.
u forgot to mention how clean it is compared to ur kachra NY or any other place in US our busses are clean and subways are spotless. no vandalism what so ever.

hey don't blame us if you're lagging behind the rest of the world where the metric system is the standard.

and your generalizations are a lil premature for someone who hasn't experienced even the GTA and its full diversity

"Toronto/Canada" ?? *sigh* the ignorance.

I was going to criticize the US. but then I read "great nations".

Nothing Wrong with “honest” criticism…
e.g. you’re right about the general thinking Re: Canadians thinking they’re more courteous… I can’t comment on that though because I’ve only stayed in the U.S. for 3 months and that too in just one city so can’t generalize (like you did ) just yet.

Aur "honest" criticism mey ghalat information tow na phelaaow:

I dunno which currency you're using dude:
  • On the $5 bill: Sir Wilfrid Laurier (French Canadian Prime Minister).
  • On the $10 bill: Sir John A. Macdonald (Canada's first prime minister and one of the Fathers of Confederation)
  • On the $20 bill: Queen Elizabeth II
  • On the $50 bill: William Lyon Mackenzie King (Canada's longest-serving prime minister)
  • On the $100 bill: Sir Robert Laird Borden (Canadian Prime minister who led the country in the first world war)

good job UT
Well you should also visit Mississauga, Brampton and other parts of GTA and see how clean they are....something you would not find in US large cities.

How many Canadian Pesos in a Dollar? I bought my kitchen cabinets that were made in Canada, the bloody thing is in kilometers and I cannot find the same size doors locally and have to order stuff from them. Canada should be nuked, good for nothing neighbor. Canada is the kind of neighbor you don’t leave your keys with for feeding your dog when you are going on vacation. They will starve the poor dog to death in the name of socialism.

UT… so many Sir prime ministers of Canadia? Who gives this Sir thingie to them? Eh?

Purdue, that’s very comforting to know. Now I feel much better. If I ever decide to get a dog, I promise to name him Sir Paul Martin. How is that? It is out of respect for your Presidente.

Canadia Zindabad. Long live Canada and its Queen.

WE are the SUPERPOWER. Nobody gives a rats ass about the metric system. Bow before america and change your ways. Whatever america goes by is the right way. Stupid canadians and europeans are just america's domesticated animals.
