i'll be in Toronto for one day ( hard luck) , it will be my only day in canada ever, please suggest me good and very reasonable shopping stores / areas where i could shop , also any fascinating attraction other than Niagra falls ? I'm so short of time.

AS mentioned above, CN Tower (obervatory at the top, 1 hr), Skydome (from 30 minutes), Eaton Centre (2 hours max), Honest Ed (30 minutes) are the only things that can be seen in one day including 5 hrs of Niagra Falls trip (1.5 hr travel each way, 1 hr falls, 1 hr ferry or downtown NF). Actually there is nothing besides these Toronto has to offer in this time of the year. But you will enjoy everything including densed downtown T.O. They all are within 3 km radius the max.

^ I have never been to it either, have seen from outside only. But I heared people saying its a good place for bargain.

If the weather permits, I'd certainly suggest taking the Gray Line Tour Bus for a quick tour of the downtown core.

yorkdale is good for shopping, kinda expensive though  .
