What kind of information are you looking for attique. Are you moving permanently? Coming to work / study / chill ? Are you travelling alone or with kids / family? What kind of accommodation are you looking for etc.

calgary and missisauga are about 4 hours plane ride away from each other. different provinces and time zones.

if you wish to open a boutique or a desi restaurant, then you need to make it stand apart and be different IMO. missisauga, brampton, all those areas on the west side of toronto are full of desi people, and subsequently has lots of desi eateries and boutiques.

missisauga is nice place to live. it's very much a suburb, and a lot of pakistanis have moved into the area. depending on where you live in that area exactly, you'll probably be surrounded by desis, if not all pakistanis. other than that, i hope a saugan can give you better and clearer answers.

i don't thinkit's lacking, i think there are tons, but if you go from one shop to another, they all seem the same. that's all i'm saying.

the weather is ever changing in toronto. it does get very cold in toronto, but no one ever skips work, or school. only when there is a layer of 2 inch thick ice on teh roads, then people might skip work. you can expect snow storms, cold winds, freezing rain, wind chill warnings (when the temp hits like, -35 or something), (once or twice a winter) and lots more snow. but like i said, no one ever has to miss school. springs are very beautiful, with moderate tempratures, which can dip low sometimes, but rarely below freezing. summers start off mild, but then it gets muggier in july/august, as well as scorching temps (eg around 30 C), but that's during noon, as soon as 5 o clock hits, the temp gets tolerable again. there is rain starting in spring and summer, and in fall it's usually leaves that are falling.

Attique, desis are all over mississauga and there is no specific concentration. You will find desi restaurants and shops in every part of mississauga.

You can however start with an area called Cooksville (Hurontario St. & Dundas St.) as it has quite a few desi restaurants and grocery shops and a relatively higher population of desis.

Oh and one more thing. Unlike in the UK, up here the word "asian" is used to refer to chinese or oriental looking people. Just do you don't get confused when talking to people here.

Mississauga is to Toronto what Hounslow is to London.

Ignore the propaganda. Unlike the UK, it's not humid here in winter so -15 here feels like like +3 over there.

The difference in weather didn't bother me when I moved here from the UK. AND I moved in the middle of winter. Plus if you are British enough then no weather can bother you
