I would like to take a trip down memory lane, during my planned visit to Pakistan, shortly. Whats the situation with transport , hotels etc. in the kaghan area.

Way back in the 80's and early 90's we used to go to Murree, then from there we went by road all the way up to Naran, with stop overs in Abbottabad, Balakot, Shogran, Kaghan and then Naran. We used to do it, with family, almost every year

Is it still do'able ??
Has anything changed

I like long walks
specially when they are taken by people I dont like

It has become better... Much of the Balakot was destroyed because of earthquake but now its a busy city again. New Road was being built last year in July (From Balakot to Mahandri) when I visited there, should be complete by now. Hotels are great in Naran valley.. could get a camp for few hundred rupess or a semi-luxury hotel for few thousand rupees Jeeps easily available to visit Saif Ul Maluk, Lulupatsar, Lalazar etc. Just love that place

It is wonderful.Hotels are cheap now but it is going to be very cold soon. Routs are same as you went before.

Yep it is.. I have been there last year and there was no problem at all. A group of my friends went this year too and their trip was awesome.

Found a video on youtube about Naran valley. It was aired on Geo last month. I hope this will give you a good insight about that area.
