Quote:
The Milgram experiment was a series of social psychology experiments conducted by Yale University psychologist Stanley Milgram, which measured the willingness of study participants to obey an authority figure who instructed them to perform acts that conflicted with their personal conscience. Milgram first described his research in 1963 in an article published in the Journal of Abnormal and Social Psychology, and later discussed his findings in greater depth in his 1974 book, Obedience to Authority: An Experimental View.

The experiments began in July 1961, three months after the start of the trial of Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann in Jerusalem. Milgram devised his psychological study to answer the question: "Was it that Eichmann and his accomplices in the Holocaust had mutual intent, in at least with regard to the goals of the Holocaust?" In other words, "Was there a mutual sense of morality among those involved?"

Hmm...
It was a chocking and a shocking revelation to me. Especially the one which said the good and innocent looking ones are the ones who are most violent in tests... without remorse.

^^ Exactly thats what Nazis did . Even their soldiers knew that it was morally incorrect , but still they did it .

We can even relate it to recent suicide bombing in Pakistan . Those men are even willing to blow themselves up under obedience . More killing has been done in this world under the name of obedience than anything else . But its a human instinct that is hard to control and people exploit it everyday .

^Agreed....But in suicide bombing (I mean in Jihadi style),the bombers know what they are doing but according to their perception what they are doing is a divine and will reserve a berth in heaven and virgins.

But in an ideology like NAZISM ,where cadres are ready to unleash mass murders, they know what they are doing but they do it just for their master/masters and do not expect any kind of rewards.

Trust me few of bombers do it just because they are ''told'' to do so .

But anyways its sickening how easily innocent people can be used so easily with their own consent .
