Hello ladies.. im kinda new here.
anyways, needed huge help, im getting engaged this december inshAllah and i live in mississauga, canada. im DESPERATELY lookin for a decent place to get paki style bridal make-up done..
any of u know of any good places?? like in toronto or mississauga..please help, id greatly appreciate it!
I am in the same boat right now and i cant find anyone either. so i just went to the MAC counter at yorkdale and made an appointment for a trial lets see what happens....the girl happened to be indian and she said most of the girls there had done a south asian wedding...so i have my fingers crossed and hoping for the best....i'll let u know how it turns out
this reminds me I'm in Mississauga. I moved here from Chicago with my habibi. I was wondering If I can find good Indian/Paki clothing stores? I have to get some Party wear outfits. A huge khandan wedding is coming up. I wanna do my shopping tonight.
So If anyone can give me names and location that would be cool. inshaAllah.
If you are looking for Pakistani style makeup for weddings and parties than I can recommend Zaibe (I hope I've spelled it correctly). My two sisters and a sister-in-law were made dulhan by her and got loads of compliments and for each occasion I also got the party makeup done by her. I can't seem to find her phone #, I know that her home base business is in Scarborough. I do remember seeing her ads on TV in the Pakistani programs on sat and sun. I'll try to get the phone # from my sisters tomorrow and then post it. InshaAllah.
hey pink'd out! yes that seems like a good option... i once had the contact info of this girl barb, who used to work at yorkdale.. not sure if she stillworks there, but seemed like she knew good bridal makeup. lemme know how it goes for u.. ive still been looking around
someone recommended someone else who also works for the mac at squareone, but she's asking for $275 for minimal makeup.. is that a good price.. it's just engagement makeup, i dont want the heavily done shadi bridal kinda makeup...anyways

unfortunately i cant pm it to none of u since im still new here,,, ig uess we'd all hafta wait.. once i can, i totally will
yes she sells all kindsa clothes.. ive bought a few from her too, reasonable stuff! like if ure lookin for unstitched material, like nice prints/ cotton/ linen, i think she shudve smthn lyrin rnd for like $50-$60 ... the outfits (stitched ones).. honestly they span over a large range... from well within under a $100 to beyond that
but she's really nice n homely, n i personally reallylike her collection

Regards!
I've booked with Saman of studio sila for an event this coming weekend. Will let you know how it goes.
The price is pretty good....not nearly $275. So if you are looking for party make-up but not quite dulhan-style set-up, wait for my review and then give her a call.

i know some lady from pakistan and her parlar in mississauga
how was your experience with STUDIO SILA/ SAMAN... I like her website and my engagement is coming soon..I am not sure is she is as good or better then shirley..please let me know about your experience
"There's only one pretty child in this world, and every mother has it." ---- Chinese Proverb
well eventhough saman and shirey both have quoted me the same but shirley says she will make me ready by 4 as she has to go do another bride and saman will make be prepared by 6.
secondly, i have seen in shirley makeup that she does Not do nose contouring as one of my freinds just got married and i compared her engagement as well as wedding pictures in which nose shaping was not done.
Now I am confused what should I do..samans websites seems pretty good, but again i dont want to illusion myself with the digital effects making the makeup flawless...
Feedbacks are much appreciated.
well you know they should be atleast shape it or put some effect a bit like how we see in various pictures etc..so that the nose doesnot look very flat..i dont have a flat nose but i would prefer to make it look a little slim.. you know...i have not seen this in shirleys work....and m not sure if she knows how to do it or not..one my friends got her makeup done from her for her engagement and wedding and i didnt see that contouring done on her either...( considering she does have a little flat nose)
got my hair and makeup from dimple shah.. she was pretty good (alot of ppl loved the makeup)..and Tweet, supposedly she did do face contouring..but i saw no difference...will know once I get pix

i don't know if anyone is still looking for her, but her name is Zebi. she's at 401/neilson in scarborough. if you email me, i can send you her home number. and yes, she's very good. she's been doing it for about 15 years or so now, and she's done a ton of pakistani/indian brides so she's very good with matching skin tone and using complimentary colours so you don't up with gross, chalky makeup. fyi, she hosts the Yeh Karavan program on OMNI so she's also aware of how to make someone look good so they photograph well.
I have booked trial with Saman from Studio Sila this Sunday ..she seems to be very nice on the phone and email. I will see her on sunday she is charging $75 for trial make-up x2 and hair x2 the session will lasts for about 2 hrs she said .. I hope she is good .... and if everything is okay Insahallah I will get my make-up done by her
