I do want red, but I think I'll decide on the dress once I've finalized the jewelery, which is most probably a rubies set. If I go for red, I'll go for plain red with antique gold, I don't like green and red, or blue and red. I just mite go for purple edgings on the border

ook.. i actually do like blue and green but its been done to death. i was thinking of purple too but i saw this purple and red combinatino and it looked a bit tacky but it could be the wrong shade of purple. good luck with the preps..

Hi guppies,
I know there have been a lot of threads on bridal makeup, but frankly i have no idea what to do. my wedding is going to take place in lahore but i live abroad so there is no way for me to check out the parlors personally. I have read on this forum about Allenora and Madeeha's being very popular choices. I'm still not convinced about either one and need some help deciding. Anyone care to share their opinions about where to get it done..thanks ladies

Hi...this is my first post here. I'm getting married this January and I live in Lahore. I haven't decided where to get my makeup done from either...but I'd suggest either Allenora or Shahzad Raza. I'm also debating between the two. I recently saw a bride done by Madeeha's (she wore red) and her makeup was really bad, but she does a really good job if your bridal dress is a lighter color. So, it really depends on what you're wearing.

i got my barat makeup done from shahzad raza, and my valima makeup was with madeehas (makeup artist one but madeeha did final touches).
they both did great job but i recommend shahzad raza because his base was just too good, and at madeehas it just looked like they had plastered my face with foundation. i've really healthy skin and i do not require heavy base, which shahzad raza did. he applied base according to my skin needs. and he didnt complete my make up in one go....he took intervals while doing it so that makeup could get absorbed into the skin....i was ready by quarter to 4 on my barat day (bcoz of shoot with afzal lined up after that) and i went on stage at 10 pm, and make up was still very fresh. whereas on my valima day i got lines and cracky base during my photoshoot only. but it wasnt an issue because my valima was in afternoon and i didnt have to wait much to get to the stage.
i recommend shahzad raza...if u have to choose one, but madeehas is also not a bad option.

Congratulations on your wedding, Saima_khan.
I hope you find the right makeup artist here.

i would totally recommend u athar shahzad ..even if u dont want to go for the signature makeup of shahzad reza ...go for his assistant's ..i think her name's maryam ..not sure though ..she does a fabulous job !
the makeups totally natural ..and all the brides who got their makeup done from her looked beautiful

That is new info for me, Enigmatica. I always thought Athar Shahzad did all his brides himself like Akif Ilyas does. Do you know how much the makeup costs if booked by his assistant Maryam?

@mahi .. well my friend got her barat makeup done from his assistant ..i think she takes 20-25k ..and if finishing touches are by shehzad then 30k .. shehzad himself takes 40k now . m not sure though ..but its definitely above 35
