so my mom said
"Main aapke maayka ke riwaj torna nahin chaati par agar aap mind nahi karti... hamari nand pregnant or mere husband cancer ke mareez hain... to jab aap ka dil chaae plz kuch kardi jiye"
and my chaache started cookin hahah

mA, he's too good to be true.. we were together for 6 years before getting married and he was nice back then also but i NEVER thought it would be so much after marriage. infact, i thought it would be the opposite that now she's my wife, i can take her for granted.. but he proved me wrong and how..
he's finishing up medical school which is why we haven't done the rukhsati yet. infact we were just going to do a formal engagement instead of nikkah until his graduation but both of us were like no, it's been 6 years, time to be mr. and mrs. i love being nikkahed though, i can visit him whenever i want and no restrictions at all.. besides i feel i can connect so much with his family now on a personal level since im the 'wife' or 'bahu' or 'bhabi'..
iA, we will be in miami as he's born and brought up there so i dont think he can even imagine living elsewhere.. i don't have any complains though because it's a beautiful place i know what you mean about the weather.. i live in connecticut and it's always so ugly here.. ufff.. dark, cloudy, horrible weather.. whenever you visit U.S, come visit me in FL

See, i think thats not so good if a person who lives in a household doesn't contribute to the workload and pull their own weight after having a reasonable amount of time to b a dulhan and settle in.

I have been married about 10 months now...and it keeps on getting better mashaAlalh....I had been engaged for about 4 years and never once I thought it would be so good afterwards...It was long distance thing....I was in Canada and he was in the UK...and we never saw each other in all those years...I met my husband 10 days before we were set to be nikkafied....all of this still sounds crazy to me...haha
I am really happy to be married to him...I got married in Karachi and lived with my inlaws for 10 days...it's all guys there...no nandain...so being the first girl in the family...I got alot of attention from everyone which was fun...
Moving back to UK was when the real deal started...I thought I would be terrible at everything having seen my mom being so perfect at cooking, housekeeping, etc....but to my utter surprise, I m not bad at all...I love having the freedom of doing everything just like how I want it...I have fun cooking....he is a good cook himself...so he helps me out if someone's coming over...I would make the biryani...and he would make Achar chicken or something lol...it's fun...
But if there is anything I dont like...It's washing dishes!...I hate it with passion...we moved last month to a new place...so I just made sure that we have a dishwasher here...:P
All in all...Life is good mashaAllah...

@shay, Ramada Plaza Karachi.
I agree, chores should be equally done by both husband and wife, if not more than the husband

It took some time for me and my husband to settle down after marriage. We both come from huge extended families that live in the same city and state so the davaats and parties were nonstop! They all have houses near each other and I had a ton of fun after the wedding..wearing new clothes, new jewelry, taking pictures, eating like a pig, talking laughing and just enjoying being a new dulhan!
We finally moved out to start med school this September and alhamdullilah things are better now. We visit our parents/in laws on weekends if time allows us to but the amount of schoolwork and studying has increased so we don't visit family that often.
Its a new and different life after marriage but my husband is a diamond so I am happy and things couldn't be better :-)

He takes me to my favorite restaurants, beaches, malls, everywhere. 'You're leaving in just a few days...' is always a good reason to keep the wife happy This is why I like long distance relationships- when I finally get to see the hubby, he tries to make it as special as he can. Same with the inlaws, they usually plan everything ahead in excitement such as where to take me, eating out, etc etc.. MIL cooks my favorite stuff on the weekends, and no matter whether it's a school night or not for my devars, we all stay up watching movies, playing games, etc. Let's see how it is after rukhsati
