Hi,
Could somebody suggest if wearing colored lenses can ruin your wedding photographs. I wore Hazel colored lenses on my engagement and the pictures turned out bad that is some red spots showed in my eyes. I am not sure if it was because of the lenses or b/c of unprofessional photography. I look very good in colored lenses and now I m confused whether to wear them on my reception or not?
Also plz vote whether I should go with Studio 9 or Hakim & Sons for portraits.

^it could have been the unprofessional photography. they should be able to get the red spots out very easily and should have.
Studio 9 alll the way!!!!!! Studio 9 is awesome, definitely much better than Hakim and sons!

Thanks Sumorani,,, I think I will stick to Studio 9 for photography. I am only having my recpetion in Pakistan b/c most of my relatives and friends are there. Its only a one day event. Does anybody have any idea how much would Studio 9 charge for one day photography and how many portraits should we have taken? Also does black and white photograph look good. Post some bridal pics in black and white.

Virtually all cameras have "red eye" reduction technique built-in. Even if the camera / camera man was unable to fix "red eyes" - it is generally easy with computer to fix it.

if you had a professional photographer you should not have red eye. its their job to take good pics.

^well taking good pics doesnt mean the pics wont have u with red eyes; im sure everyone that takes pics has at some point gotten pics with red eyes, but anyone could really take the red eye away, if not with their camera then definitely with the editing software they're using, photoshop or whatever.

there was a thread sometime back on the same topic. i think coloredeyes started it. well i myself used grey color lenses on engagement, shadi and walima and the pics turned out nice. infact, i wud have never imagined myself on these important days without lenses. my eye shape is such that when i wear lenses, they look big. my sis however, her eyes remain the same size and shape. so go with ur insitinct and do what looks BEST on u. u cud speak with the photographer abt this issue beforehand so he can answer you and assure you that the pics r gonna turn out well. all the best

well Sara, I definitely wont be matching my lenses with my dress. I am wearing a red dress and I dont think my husband would appreciate red eyes on wedding night. hehehe. how would hazel colored lenses look with red and beige sharara or should I just wear my transparent ones.

again....it shouldnt be your problem even if the photographer does take 'some' pics with red eye because he/she is supposed to present you with pics with the red eye removed. usually professional photographers may not have this problem because they're likely to have really good cameras.

I personally don't like the colored lenses look - I have seen brides if makeup is done well with their natural color - theri pictures look prettier - my opinion.
My cousin had contacts in her eyes and her pictures came out fine but she eyes looked weird during her wedding.

Photography has nothing do with red eye. It can happen with or without lenses. Red Eye happens usually at night or in darker areas when the retina is more wide and open to allow more light to go in. Even though most cameras do have red eye reduction in them most people dont know how to use this technique or are unaware of the complex features of the digital camera. None the less red eye reduction can be easily achieved these days with softwares such as Picasa 3, Photoshop Elements 6.0, Photoshop CS3, Paintshop Pro Photo X2. . .

i agree! i think there's just something more "real" about real eyes, as weird as that sounds, and chances are, your natural eye color probably suits you better. plus they're your wedding pics- if i really wanted colored lenses, i'd go for a funner, smaller, family shoot separate from the wedding, or do something like that on the mehendi. definitely wouldn't mess with my wedding piccies- i want to look like me not someone playing dressup!

If u really want to wear colored contacts just wear them for the mehndi! But stick to clear contacts for the wedding and valima.. the makeup changes u're look..what looks nice in daily life might not look great with oodles of makeup and contouring! The colored contacts show in pics as well..and tend to clash with all the sparkle and colors! I really havn't seen a bride carry them off well so far..
Some days are a complete waste of make-up!
