      Hey All!

So I got married 3 months ago and in a few weeks my FIL is having a second small wedding reception in NY for all those people that couldn't make it to our wedding in Pakistan. I am thinking of wearing my bridal dress for it (cuz i love it so much) but i definitely don't want the dupatta over my head. In addition, i will be wearing my bridal jewelry but not the tikka and jhumar. So I was hoping you all could give me ideas about how to wear the dupatta specially since its so big and long without wearing it over my head? Pics for examples will be greatly appreciated! Thanks all.

over your left shoulder and swag it round the back and drape it over your right arm? pin it at the wrist so it doesn't bug you.

      ^exactly.
i am trying to find a picture to show you. i think instead of letting the dupatta fall all over your left arm, you can pleat it and pin it on the shoulder.

Won't your dupatta be too heavy to be worn like the one above? It would look lovely if you can pin it up like this in some way. I tried this style when I wore my wedding dress for a party but the weight kept pulling the shirt's shoulder in crazy directions.

You can have a few pictures taken standing like the model in the middle (somehow, I know that you'll look prettier than the model and the style looks manageable. Have fun!

Is your wedding dress a Lehnga or a gharara? Cause for a Lehnga there is a Gujrati style way to put it in the front and then bring it to the front almost like a sari, looks really pretty.

^ if i'm thinking of the right style, then i dont think it'll work as her shirt has quite a bit of
kaam and that way would hide it almost entirely, no?

Do it how it is in the first picture of Vaneeza.. keep the pleats at the shoulder but instead of carrying it out at the front, bring it from the back and tie it around your arm/wrist. This way, it won't bother you while eating food or greeting people.

haha, im gonna have to think about that. i love the tikka and jhumar and will definitely not be wearing the jhumar for sure but i feel like the tikka is gonna be a lil too much? its gonna be about 50 people, i dont wanna have a complete bridal look. i guess ill try the outfit on again, drape the dupatta around me this weekend and try it with and without the tikka to figure out if its good.
