I have attended over 10 weddings/ valimas at Margalla and although the location is excellent, the facilities are poor in comparison to Serena/ Mariott/ Pearl/ Holiday Inn/ Best Western. Margalla is also not known for its food.

There BBQ is dry, Tikkay become rubber after 5 minutes and seekh kebabs are also very dry and hard. Salads are pathetic. There salans are too watery.

Here is my rating venue wise

    Serena
    Marriott
    PC
    Holiday Inn
    Best Western

    Food wise

    Mariott
    PC
    Holiday Inn
    Serena
    Blue Lagoon
    Crown Plaza
    Best Western

stylo, I agree, the food at Serena is not worth for the price, however it is still better compared to Margalla. Their salads are a lot better and so are their desserts. I have only had two dinners at Serena, both buffets and they were not great but not bad either. I enjoyed the ambience. I have never attended any wedding at Serena but I have thoroughly checked their wedding/ valima menus.

Aminas, I seldom go for shorbas or biryani. tikka boti and seekh kebabs are what I always eat with a pepsi.

You live in Islamabad, right? Tell me how many times people who dine out go to Margalla for food? People go to Marriott, Holiday Inn, PC and other places

Great! thanks for the tips everyone!
Upon your suggestions I made a couple of enquiries and, stylobabe you are absolutely right, ISB club stopped doing weddings a while back. ... uffff!! that would have been a nice choice...

Also with regards to price - Marriot I think was asking around $5000 (rs. 300,000) for one day event for 100 ppl, food and hall included. Holiday Inn and Best Western were about $3500. Serena, did not check coz I keep hearing from multiple sources (ashtray and stylobabe you are again totally right!) that the food is horrible.
Naval/Air force I am still checking and the thing about them is that you have to get catering from outside (heard Hanif Rajput is the best) and I think also set up a wedding tent and all.

Does this info sound about right? Comments?

    Hi Manaey,

I go through your website and the decors are very good. Could you give me an idea where your farm house is located and how much do you charge for it and do you guys rent it out separately or that would come with a whole package. I am looking forward to your answer.
