But if everyone is referring to Makeupforu bySarah...then I am not so sure? I mean have any of you seen the FB profile I am talking about?

They're 2 different MUA...Mahwish Khan is the one whose work I have seen.
Sarah is someone I came across on fb, in my friend's friends list. I think(i may be wrong) she did 1 of my friends bridal makeup and it was stunning. I will confirm with my friend and reply here again.

MahwishH Sorry for the confusion, lol. My friend mentioned to me that her bridal MUA was in her list and I kept thinking it was this girl named Sarah. Well, here's the facebook id of the person who did my friend's makeup: Zareen Chaudhry

ATR, OMG ur hands look sooo pretty!!! I just absolutely love what she has done!! Ok, I need to get this lady if I can Although, my fiance was telling me that his aunt got this one auntie to do the mehndi stuff for his cousin's wedding..and she did like the hands for all the girls for like $10/per hand...which I think is quite reasonable.
I'm attaching a small pic of her work..don't know if you can see the work very clearly..in fact, i think the quality is quite bad..and this is just the regular mehndi for one of the girls..not the brial one:

This is my engagement make up from Zubaida. Pls do not quote or post these pictures elsewhere. Just so u guys know the first time I visited her & asked her to show me some pictures of her work she showed me an album in which it seemed like most of the brides were from Pakistan. Some of them also had that caked make up. At that time I only had a week to gather up everything so went ahead with Zubeida. Didn't show Zubaeida any pictures but told her that I didn't want my face to look like it was painted. The end result is in front of u girls.
*pic removed upon request*
Unfortunately I still haven't gotten any pictures from the day Anjum did my make up. Just have one which is not that clear. Hers was good too though. Honestly even I am confused because although Anjum used Mac's stuff I think both make ups stayed on for some good hours & both were nice.

Hi Bint, So I tried PMing u but it didn't work since I am so new In any case, I have added u to my FB. I had forgotten that I used another e-mail for my FB account hence the confusion
As for your mangni pic, I must say MA u are looking very pretty!! But, how to know that it's Zubaida's magic or if you are naturally pretty to begin with? I do think though that she has done a good job with not going overboard, which is good. I do like a lot more complexity in the eye make up though, but then there is such a fine line between complexity and utter weirdness. For example, I had my engagement in Lahore and HATED the make up i got because the lady who did my make up put a shade of black eye shadow jub ke there was NO black in my dress.
So yea, while I love a little blending and mixing of eye shades in make up, I also think this kind of complexity is a little weird :P Iss se acha tou to keep it light like Zubaida did.

Hello,
I just wanted to say Ive been coming to this forum for a few years now for help but have never joined until today when i saw this topic. I live in chicago and got married in 2007 and have some info to share. Im not sure if the zainab mentioned here is the same one i went to for my reception makeup, but if it is I would just say she did an amazing job, she's an auntie who usually comes to your house if you need her makeup services. I do have her contact #, just need a day or 2 to dig up her card and i'll post up her number. My friend and my sister in law both had their wedding makeup done by her and they were both very pleased. I can email pics of my reception if you would be interested in seeing her work, i dont feel comfortable posting them up here, so let me know if you're interested.
I would also recommend a photographer, David Simm, his work is exceptional, but quite pricey. I will post his contact info here along with Zainab's. He also works with a videographer, I dont have his info but I can get it if you're interested, he does 2 days for around $2000, at least that was the rate 2 years ago, it might have changed, but i'll see if i can get his info as well.

BTW, I loved your makeup from both days.

Sorry i missed ur post CA! I think Shahin did a good job for you on both your days, honestly. I just dont like her customer service i guess. She did do an amazing job with my hair and dupatta for my nikah though.
Btw for eyebrows i now go to Zara at Bibiyas. She did my mehendi for me on my wedding on a very short notice and i am very grateful to her for that. She does an amazing job on my eyebrows too.
I love children and old people. Its everyone in between I can't stand - Don Imus

Just to add to Parvin's charges, she charges $6 for a normal non-bridal mehendi done, a little below the wrist.

Oh, I forgot to adding anything for Zubaida, sorry! best thing probably would be to see Bint_e_Naeem's engagement pic for an idea of her work.
I am curious though Bint, why aren't you going with Zubaida for the wedding? I believe her price range (~ $ 150) wasn't bad either. Or infact, with Anjum for that matter?

Very nice work so far!
Bint-e-Naeem, you look beautiful Mashallah! I love your eyes, you dont even need a lot of makeup girl! If Im not mistaken, in 2007 Mehwish's sister got married in Monty's right? I was there, were you also? Such a small world!
For mehndi, its a family tradition my sister does all the bridal mehndi for the girls in my family. She does an amazing job as far as Im concerned but she doesnt do it professionally. I'll post a pic of my engagement mehndi to show you all. She lives in Boston though and wont be in town until late May otherwise I would speak to her about you all in case you liked her.
Here you are:
Mahwish, you will be so happy with Amna, she is professional, nice and gives you good work for your money.
Ive got one more contact for you for videography. Her name is Arzoo Abbas, anyone heard of her? They're a father/daughter team, do a good job and have reasonable rates. Im thinking of using her too because Mili is SKY HIGH for me...my wedding is in peak wedding season. The cheapest quote I got was for around $5000 from Mili. Arzoo's # 630.205.5839, they're nice and honest people.
Mehwish and Sara are two different people. I personally dont know of Sara or Zubeida or Anjum. Im going to look around some more tonight.

I do hope Amna is the person for me, Psquared. Like, I genuinely like her style...it is in fact very simialar to my style of photography (I do a little bit of amateur photography myself!).
The thing is, I am not sure if I want her to cover my entire function-- I mean, since we're only having a reception in Chicago (technically a valima), I'm not sure if I want to pay her for 6 hrs of covering guests coming in and out, and sitting with us on the stage
What I am more inclined towards is, perhaps, a portrait/photo session between me and my husband. Let's see what her rates are on that. Coz, certainly, if it is just a 3 hr session (MAX), I'm sure we won't be need a 100 prints? Like perhaps, 50 prints? Her album rates begin @ $600.00 for 100 prints or something. So yea, I definately need to speak with her and see how it goes.
iA will post on how the conversation goes

shay9164...did u check out their website? If not, no wonder you are so surprised! I mean the work they do is like...I don't know..you can call 'em mini movies of sorts..like really.
Still..I guess it doesn't justify paying $5000 for one day
