I opened the thread when I saw the word 'payal' and this sprung to mind:
Is it true that a Muslim woman cannot wear bracelet on the ankle?
With regards to anklets, Muslim women are allowed to wear it. But if it has a bell, then it is not allowed since it will create sound that will cause others to look at her or be distracted by her
It's not a matter of me being in this forum or not.

Oh gosh femme those are just GORGEOUS! Where did you get them from? they are wayyy better than the ones we saw in Chicago, me thinks.
I got a couple of pairs through a guppan who went to india for a visit. I will post pics once i get home. I wear one of them at home all the time. I took the bells off so they are completely halal.

Lovely. That's the same argument the Taleban used to ban women from wearing high heels and other "noisy" shoes.

- Not all payal have bells
- Even if they do have bells and she wears hijab, she can still wear them in ladies only gatherings, a party where she is dressed up without hijab
- Even if they do have bells, she can still wear them at home to cause you "to look at her or be distracted by her"
