Why feel silly? You totally deserve to have it videotaped and done properly. Go for it!

well, why do you need to video tape it? Just take nice photos and be done with it.

U shudnt feel silly at all. Its ur special day and im sure ur hubby would love to see his bride in her red lengha. After all you'll only ever wish u were able to do the whole dressing up if u dont take ur chance now. And those memories should be videotaped and cherished forever. Id cry if i didnt have my nikah documented. I always go back to watch it when im missing my other half or feel mushy lol

I think you should go for it. The night before do a mehndi function with close friends and family -- have all the music, singing, dancing you like -- and all the color. And then dress up in your lengha!

It is your life and you can do whatever you want to. Discuss this with your spouse and have fun!

ah thanks for al the support ladies... it's really been stressin me out...i felt silly just dressing up for my nikkah for like an hour, and it will only be my inlaws there because we don't want people thinking we're just getting it read now... you know what the mentalities are like...and if i did a mehndi it would only be about 10 15 people in the house, and i don't know how to go about it because all the mehndi's i've been to have been big Do's....
to top it all of i didnt want to get the traditional mehndi done bcoz we are going to go away on a honeymoon the day after... so what am i supposed to do at my mehndi party????

Since you've already had your nikkah, maybe in addition to having the nikkah reread, you can ask the imam or someone else who is religiously knowledgeable to speak about marriage in Islam or something.

As for the mehndi, do the usual singing and dancing and celebration!
