hey, it's entirely up to what you like!
personally, i've only seen one pure white oufit that i've liked (nilofer shahid). i think off-white, cream or something with a bit of warmth is more forgiving.
there are also lots of nice shades of gold that you could go for imo!

I'm wearing off-whitish on my valima, but the initial swatches of embroidery looked very dull. I'm trying to spice is up with a gold lehenga and blue and magenta kumkhwaab finishing. I'm also stressed out about how the end result will be :s

i think white is a difficult color to pull off, but looks gorgeous at the same time. if you do decide to wear white, make sure there is color in your jewelry, and that you have brighter colored makeup (not clownish, but maybe darker eyes or darker lips, one or the other).
i wore off-white/beige for my engagement, and i think the way i compensated for the light color is through the darker make up and i had my hair down and brighter colored jewelry. the embroidery can also help give the outfit the 'heavier, bridal' look that people are talking about.
you should wear whatever color you feel looks best on you. make sure though that your stage isn't white, and has color in it so you don't get washed out once you're on stage.
good luck!

I think the danger with white is that unless you are a patlee-ching, you can look a little larger than you would like.

I think white will look stunning. Look at some Nilofer Shahid stuff... her designs in white are exquisite. Nickie and Nina have also made some really beautiful stuff in white.
