ok Mirpur is expensive and not worth it! because its owned by british people and quality wise its rubbish! they just overcharge cus they no we are 'majboor' to buy as we go with less time and unaware! Islamabad is much better, you got moti bazaar for open material and Muree Rd with Mohsin and Sons we had a lengha made from there a copy of a pic we found ina magazine wid stones n really decked out with work! in total cost us £480 and here in UK it would have cost £1500!! we chose d material ourself! howeva whereva u go be firm with them and in control!

also i asked for an anarkali to be sent they laughed at me sayin out of fashion insted i had a tuxedo style sherwani sent to me! was absolutely gorgeous!

for mendhi people tend to stick to choori daars or gharara's and go traditional!

but if u see something in magazine u can have to replicated!!

and for shoes n sandals METRO is the best!!

are u gona stay in mirpur?

Hi girls

I have just come back from pakistan and agree with the comment left by jaaniya mirpur is expensive to shop you will barely see anyone from pakistan there 80% of the shoppers are from abroad hence which is why the shoppers rob us silly...id def suggest doing shopping from pindi or lahore however if you dont have the time then i would recommend you libas-e-fashion in mirpur they have nice up to date stuff but bit expensive pak price but if u compair it to uk cost then it is cheap but u can get it even cheaper if you shop around els were..my cousin got her lengha from libas-e-fashion asking price was 70,000 she paid 50,000 but it was a nice and worth it ask she did not have enough time to shop around. Regards to the shoes again id say metro or stylos they have up to date designs but you cannot haggle as its fix price but id recommend you shop around because u can pick up bargains esp when you have to haggle its fun doing that.

I love METRO shoes! Plus they're really good value! They're similar to all the jewelled shoes that Unze do (Are you from UK?)...so if you love Unze shoes then you'll love Metro! Stylo is similar is similar as well however when I went I bought only one pair from Stylo and 6 from Metro....
Metro is in Jinnah Super F-7 in Islamabad....basically everything in Islamabad is in Jinnah Super F-7 or Super Market F-8....So you should just go there for all your Islamabad shopping...Everyone knows where Jinnah and Super are so you shouldn't have a problem finding those places...Plus you can buy jewellery, accessories etc as well from there....

I think there's a place called 'Fashion Ka Ghar' on Muree Road...Rawalpindi.....they had some pretty decent stuff...especially lots of ghararas and shararas, however when I asked how long it would take for the clothes to be ready it was quite a while and I had to come back so I left it....so can't really comment too much on how good they're service is...

I've heard rumours that 'lambi kameeze' are in fashion....but I haven't seen anyone wearing any though?
So do't know if that's true...But I know a lot of people who are wearing a 'pishwas'....Don't know what that is though! Lol x

well to be honest with you 2 weeks is not long to shop in mirpur, I got married in april and thank god i did most of my shopping from here...there are sooo many plc in mirpur with so much variety, yes jewellery is sooo much better but the quality isnt the best thing...there is this plc sharif plaza they have this jewellery shop i think its called kamrans they have so much variety you have to haggle with them and can get great bargains...other than that there is this new shop opened i forgot the name sorry its near azad mega mart near toyota show room you cannot miss it...its has amazing variety of clothes you can get everything from grooms to brides outfits...but goto say one thing the shop keepers waste so much time i took majority of my clothes from here and am as u said thank god for that...regards to the cake you can get them made on order from nafees bakery they do 3 tier cakes but the cakes in pakistan do not taste nice and i am not just talking about that particular bakery i have tried so many places they are just not right lol

Fine

2 really good salon ladies in F-2 area of Mirpur are Tooba and Nauzee's. My sister and extended family members went to them for her engagement and they did a grand job.

For banquet Halls, there is Regency (a newly opened banquet hall) and Nafees. Both of these banquet halls are very spacious and pretty busy therefore you need to book in advance. They sort out everything for you, you just tell them what you want doing and decor, flowers etc is sorted out. I would suggest you approach Nafees, guy is a millionaire businessman and has various chains of successful restaurants, banquet halls, malls, bakeries throughout AJK.
