if you want i wore a long peshwaas style coat and churidaar with a heavy dupatta on my engagement. it was by mohd mehdi and it was in a biscuity/cream color. it was really quite an investment but one that i've already had a chance to wear again this summer. it's also timeless and i know i can pull it out later.
go on www.mohdmehdi.com, and its under formal F1. good luck! engagement dress shopping should be fun and not stressful :-)

i've just sent you a message with the cost and details.
he took 2 months to get me the jhora and they DHL'ed it to me here in the states. he was pretty nice to work with over the phone and worked with the minor changes i wanted to make to the jhora (i loved the sleeves, but i wanted something more classic for the future, so i just asked him to make it regular), otherwise, the outfit was just lovely . he's in lahore. his bff i believe is HSY.

mehdi has to-kill-for formals...n quite pricey too though esp for ppl living outside pakistan, karma and HSY are totally 'rullofyed' now. ive seen a million of rip offs of their designs. so if u hav a gud budget go for mehdi.
check out his site. and look under formals. am sure you wud find alot of pretty dresses there =)
am gettin engaged inshallah on 7th of nov..n i haven't yet seen my engagement dress. it's from my in-laws.. so i have no idea what would it look like :P *fingers crossed*

I'm looking for an engagement dress, the date is still not fully set but will most likely be during thanksgiving break or early december (so between Nov 21st and somewhere mid Dec).
Lengha/Gharara is a big no no according to my mom but I'm hoping that with the wide legged trousers in style now I can somewhat get away with the look of one
I realllllllllly love these outfits by Nomi Ansari and wanted to know if she had a boutique in Lahore by any chance? And if she could do it so the bottom was the wide-legged trouser instead of skirt and make them at least 3/4 sleeves? All my khalas and cousins are in Lahore so either way they will be doing the shopping for me. Also, anybody know the prices of these outfits? Or how much her designs usually cost?
