Since a few of these are bridals, I thought I would post them in the wedding froum.

These pics were taken from her Nur Jehan / Josephine collection. Although some of you may have seen these pics before, these ones offer more detail if you click on the pic twice:

i cant pick out which one i like the most! they are all unique and gorgeous! i love the way she has used fabric...
fabric itself can make a wonderful statement...usually the prettiest of ones i have seen dont have much kaam on it...the fabric/cut/fall makes or breaks the outfit...

Thats what she said.

^ so true, i went to nilofer recently, shes very sweet n all... but to be honest the clothes don't live up to the hype of her name.... and certainly not the PRICES!

like the first image was around 1-25... the bridal, the one with the close up .. pearls n all was 6-25 ... now even if u bargain how much will she come down 6? ... Also it's not about 'people with money pay.. if you can afford then its ok' ... i can afford but NOT justify paying so much for something that doesnt look so much! unless you get a big nilofer shahid meeras tag stitched to ur bust!

take for example umar sayeed, sure he charges 7 lakhs but his jodas (not that i love his style !) scream work! embellishment! karigari! and all.. they look overdone and therefore NOT overpriced..

RANT OVER.

In Love

I sad about the gorai models; they just can't pull the clothes off right.
I say we have her do the same show with pakis

i guess i'm biased because my wedding dress is coming from Nilofer Shahid! i've just been thoroughly happy with the time she's given me over the phone considering i'm in the US and she's a million miles away and not many designers have been as responsive considering how "big" she is. HSY barely batted his eyelashes at the idea of working with me, and my aunt is very good friends with him! our conversations included the amount of research her staff and herself do on learning about the various moghul periods, her influences and inspiration including Islamic Art, and it's really a matter of personal taste. one of my jhoras is some chantilly lace that's a piece she bought in paris, but even if its from Lahore (which i highly doubt), i'm sure she'll do something to it that i wouldn't have thought.

this collection is overall a bit toooo traditional for me. i'm ready to see more of her modern flair now!

that sounds lovely afashion!
i have a chantilly lace sari....and you can find that particular lace from bridal fabric stores ..just need to look at the right ones..
there is the metallic chantilly lace and the plain one..but you can certainly get them from couture fabric stores...
La Perla (lingerie company) uses it for its undergarments
