There's a book called Remembrance of Days Past by Jahanara Habibullah---If you see the photos: immediately you will think of Bunto jora. There's quite a similarity in the style and kaam placement. Different types of embellishments are explained in that book.

this is so informative all of it. the idea is not to have an exact replication, but to know what kind of work is done on the fabric ... to understand why it looks the way it does ... to separate it from the stupid thread/bead work on some run-of-the-mil bridal joras that i really hate.
i want all this kora naqshi bla bla done on my fabric to achieve this look ... thats it ... as for why the bunto hype ... there is no such thing as bunto hype ... i just call it love for your own culture .. the authentic one!

i was wondering though ... the "shirts" have this kind of sheen on them, which makes me think if the base kapra is in some sort of mukesh or what?
someone who knows cloth material well ... what do you think? is that work as well, or is that some specific kind of kapra?
