Oh great! One more thing for girls to WANT for their wedding. whats wrong with traditional invites? This is just one more thing invented to make the girls think they need it and lust after it to achieve the "perfect" wedding. Now watch how many desi girls will be g their parents for these invites for their wedding after this post..

a friend of mine had one of those boxes. beyond gorgeous but pointless at the same time. she had to hand deliver them so the jewel part wouldnt break in the mail. and im assuming mailing them was pretty expensive

I agree with everyone that I'd porbably order one or two and send regular ones to the rest. Thanks for posting

Love the first one !
But the black color would most probably be replaced with some other, in my case

when we were looking for THE wedding invites for my wedding, just like all other idiotic brides out there who think they have to personlize every single little detail to that one day they have built up to an abnormal height in their teeny tiny heads, i had my heart set on a self designed invite that was costing us 200 ruppees for one invite...
it was wedding season and we were getting so many invites..
so whilst i was discussing how that was it and i was gonna go with those expensive invites, my mamu walked by the garbage can, took out one of the many many invites we had (it was also a pricey invite, ), handed it to me and said 'this is what ure spending money on, a pce of paper someone will read, and discard in a heartbeat'
reality hit hard..
realized the idiocy of what i was wanting to do... and corrected it.. i went with a still nice looking but much much much cheaper invite for my wedding.. and had just one of my personzlied design one made for our wedding album.
standing alone on a street of broken dreams

^ that's one way of looking at it! lol
i believe that they're an important part of the "look and feel" you are trying to establish for your wedding. its not just a piece of paper, its YOUR piece of paper, you know? a wedding is beautiful because of well thought out details and design. anyone can throw 300 people into a banquet hall but what makes it different from a conference, is the detail you put into making it a special event for yourself and your guests, and invitations are the very first step in doing that. just my two cents
of course though, as with other wedding elements, you should go with what you love AND can afford.
