I would prefer the hotel, though akward for two people to be in the same room for the night, at least it gives the couple a chance to relax and unwind, plus at home, there are too many interested people...utho ho ya nahi? kya karein ho?

Oooh which brings me to another point, i take it hotels in paks decorate the room for you if you say its for a couple on their barat day, i think some hotels give it to you free if you have your function there! Any experiences?

I would have said Hotel but I remember at my sister's wedding we had booked her a room at PC Islamabad. We had done the Rukhsati, we all arrived with her to the hotel and the moron at reception said that they didn't have a room booked in our names! Even though we had come two days before the wedding to re-confirm the booking. My mum was fuming and she shouted the whole place down. EVERYONE in the lobby stood up to see the commotion (as they do in Pakistan). It was such an embarrasing time for my sister and her dulha.

In the end, after my mum made such a big fuss (rightly so) my sister and her hubby had to wait 30 mins (standing in the lobby in her dulhan clothes) before a room could be made up for them. What's worse is that it wasnt the honeymoon suite, it was just a normal room and the decorations were so bad. Because they only had 30 mins, they threw some roses on the bed and phoolon ki lariya on the wall. It was absolutely appalling. I felt so bad for my sis.

So after my sis went through that I have opted to go to my future in-laws house for my wedding night next year. Besides, if you opt for a hotel people will just think all you wanna do is to get it on. Spend the first night at the in-laws then go away for a long honeymoon to do whatever you want!

I also think it's important to ask your fiance what his opinions are as well. He would probably prefer if his bride came to his parents house so everyone can meet her. I remember as a kid on my mamu's wedding, how eagerly we used to wait for the bride!

As for secret cameras in Pakistani hotels, well I'am really not surprised! What a disgusting thing to do and whats worse is if it all came out on the internet!?!??!
Does my bum look big in this? ummm Yes?

Mix it up. Hotel after shadi and home after valima.

I think if the inlaws/friends house is not involved in the picture, and it's your own home you're going to after your wedding, then I assume there's nothing like waking up with your husband/wife the next morning in your new home.
      Blessed, happy, and content. Alhumdulillah.

Sorry to hear that....I had PC Lahore booked for my wedding and everything from decoration to room service went perfectly fine. I guess it was only a coincident.

Ugh. Hotel room all the way, unless the guy has his own place.

And as for people thinking you just 'want to get it on'----and? Isn't that one of the pluses of marriage? Once you're married it's natural and healthy to want to have some privacy, time alone, and yes, to get down to business. And that should be no one else's concern.
