    thanks so much everyone!
i absolutely love this style, i hope short shirts never come back in fashion!

my advice is to find a middle ground; these outfits are overpriced by designers, but very difficult to collect the materials for yourself (find strips of fabric that go together, to explain the cut to your tailor) and get the same cuts and flows that designers can do, sooo...

what i'm doing is giving them to our family friend who makes clothes from her house, she has a small clientele but shes really good and her prices are very reasonable, i'm sure you all wil know of someone who does that kind of thing, and I don't mean Hina Khan or Cookie Mac type people because their prices are also ridiculous!
so all i have to do is give her the pictures and she'll make them for me, I do pay a little more than had I gone buying all the materials/laces/pattees myself, but i still pay WAY less than designer prices!

I wish I can have all these outfits

    absolutely loving this trend

    I hate short shirts

not only this style is decent but will force all the body/figure show off ladies to dress up properly as well

A 24 kali frock would need 7 meters of fabric ~ 3.5 meters of one kind and 3.5 meters of another kind if you want a mix-match feel.

Ready made Silk/jamavar borders are available at lace shops but sometimes you have to buy the cloth and ask the tailor to cut or the borders. The salesmen usually know how much border you need to buy if you tell them the gher measurement.

    Asalamoalaiqum !

@ mahi , my friend i have to inform you that in 7 meter 24 kali frock cannot be made.
It depends on the size of the kali. 24 kali means 12 in front and 12 on back. If you want to make proper kalion wali frock it would have 12 meters of cloth because in the ghera 0.5meter is used while on top 0.1meter or even less (according to size). u can also make in 7 meter but its ghera will be less then the one i am talking about. It depends on the customer that how she wants it to be.

and about ready made borders, they are not of the quality compared to hand embroidery done on frock in pics. they are more or less similar to lace. nowadays laces on stones also have come into market, so maybe is border laces with stone lace on top and below the border lace would make a lovely work on frock. maybe lines of stone lace starting below chest and going till the ghera border would also make a lovely combination with border on ghera.

    haha true!

there seem to be alot of ppl advertising in this form recently, there's also a 'sareez' person in every thread whether it's about mithai or shoes, she/he jumps in with a comment like 'why dont u look at a saree at etcetc.com', it's hilarious!

I'm really liking this new trend of frocks or desi style dresses. It is the perfect combo of east meets west! I want to get one made so I can wear one at the next party or wedding event I have to attend. Please post pics of any frock style or fusion dresses you have seen! Thanks!
