Some comments about me: I've been working for the last 8 years (but don't have any savings) Always thought that its going to be arranged marriage so never really approached anyone myself, rather, said no to anyone who did. Parents haven't been able to find what's generally referred to as suitable match - though there isn't a huge list. According to their definition someone from sunni and punjabi background with an equivalent education, a middle class family and a job would do.
