"The 'Velvet Revolution' has taken place in Georgia"

So says the Georgian opposition leader, Mikhail Saakashvili after opposition supporters stormed parliament sending President Eduard Shevardnadze fleeing.

Will this be a peaceful 'revolution' or create more instability in an already volatile region?

I don't see this getting too violent. The majority truly is against Shevardnadze. Though I wonder how happy the Russians will be to have a bunch of liberals running things there?

How I wish this virus of storming the parliaments and kicking out the Taghoots (Despots) spreads amongst the Muslim countries.

President Eduard Shevardnadze has resigned. What is highly encouraging though is that the opposition leader has been very gracious to the President upon his resigantion.

Revolution in such a case doesnt change much. Top management has changed hands that doesnt mean that life will change or that all of a sudden the country will progress without a hitch. More likely this reform will have additional problems because everybody would be trying to stop his reform agenda. So best of luck to him, he will need it.
