dishonesty has become americas middle name. They've become notorious for telling things that so blatantly dont ring true that folks have to think thrice when they claim something.
In this case, they couldnt find anything substantial so deviously resorted to some bull sh1t in the report. One diplomat notes this is a deja vu of iraq (wmd, alqaeda lies), only this time around, noones willing to listen to the boy who keeps crying wolf...
------------------------------------
US Iran report branded dishonest
The UN nuclear watchdog has protested to the US government over a report on Iran's nuclear programme, calling it "erroneous" and "misleading".
In a leaked letter, the IAEA said a congressional report contained serious distortions of the agency's own findings on Iran's nuclear activity.
The IAEA also took "strong exception" to claims made over the removal of a senior safeguards inspector.
The IAEA said the letter was sent to "set the record straight on the facts".
"This is a matter of the integrity of the IAEA and its inspectors," spokeswoman Melissa Fleming said in a statement.
'Deja vu'
The letter, signed by Vilmos Cserveny, a senior director at the International Atomic Energy Agency, was sent to the head of the House of Representatives' Select Committee on Intelligence, Peter Hoekstra.
It says a report by the committee on 23 August was wrong to say that Iran had enriched uranium to weapons-grade level when the IAEA had only found small quantities of enrichment at far lower levels.
The letter went on to say that it took "strong exception to the incorrect and misleading assertion" that the IAEA removed senior safeguards inspector Chris Charlier for "allegedly raising concerns about Iranian deception" over its programme.
It went on to say the report contained an "outrageous and dishonest suggestion" that he was removed for not adhering to an alleged IAEA policy barring its "officials from telling the whole truth" about Iran.
Mr Charlier had been removed at Tehran's request, the letter said. There was no immediate response from Washington over the letter. [/SIZE]
A Western diplomat called it "deja vu of the pre-Iraq war period".

And Iran is open and honest about their nuclear program.
What about international reports on human rights violations including restrictions on political, religious, press and educational freedoms - any truth to those? Or do you still blindly support Iran just because they are a thorn in US' side, even though they suppress the very freedoms you enjoy while suckling from the west?

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he did not exist. And like that... he is gone.

I believe so. if you knew how iran works, you'd know one thing, they have enough guts to speak the truth. Its unfortunate we cant say the same about america and Israel.
did u know during the lebanese/israeli conflict, the majority of israelis believed and trusted seyed Nasrullah words over their own PM? trusting an 'enemy' over your own gov?, thats how low certain nations have become. like it or lump it; america is one of those whom the world just cannae trust..

There's no question that the Bush administration cherry picked 'evidence' and was not honest in the lead up to war against Iraq. I don't expect any more from then in the conflict with Iran. But Iran has been dishonest from day 1 regarding their nuclear program, so to stick you tongue at US and ignore the dishonest policies of Iran[edit] is dishonest and cherry picking as well.

So you truly believe that Iran's nuclear program is strictly peaceful? No plans for weaponry?

1) This article is on US's report and the UN report in response, hence irans nuclear policies are pretty much irrelevent in this thread.
2) personally i do not believe iran was dishonest, but this one is for another thread. lets not divert this one from its topic i.e. US lying as usual.

aren't we talking about nuclear issue here? or do you want US to wage war on Iran for non-nuclear issues?

It sounds like China, but I dont see US sanctioning China for that, rather the US govt gives out incentives to open up business there. One can only see two obvious reason for attacking Iran, first, its a muslim country with oil reserves and secondaly its in the middle east. The nuclear issue is just PR front for the western powers.
