***************
Germany's top security official yesterday sharply criticized a Berlin opera house's cancellation of a performance of Mozart's "Idomeneo" for fear of Muslim reaction to a scene showing the severed head of the prophet Muhammad.
"We will tend to become crazy if we start forbidding Mozart in opera houses," German Interior Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said on a Washington visit, calling the cancellation an "unacceptable" violation of the principle of freedom of speech.
***************
Now people have starting fearing the reaction of muslims around the world. The world is treating muslims like an child, who would cry loud if a toy is broken, so some parents go and get another one and spoil the child.

Actually, they're being treated more like the mentally imbalanced neighbor who nobody likes.

Given that he was quite a religious Catholic, Mozart would probably be turning in his grave if he knew someone would twist his Opera to include a decapitated Christ (pbuh).
Muslims are so good at dividing that they can divide the atom. If you see two Muslims, probably they belong to 3 parties. Al-Ghazali

Its not that Islam is the only religion thats ever been insulted - Jews protested against Mel Gibson's movie, Christians protested against Da Vinci Code, there have been various protests over unfavorable depiction of Hindu Gods & Godesses.
However no other religious group has ever protested the way followers of Islam have. That probably explains the German decision.
There is always an alternate point of view. Learn to appreciate it.

The burning of KFC is common among French and Indians too. Moreover, the racism that goes on in football stadiums shows how European's think.
I do not understand the obssesion that west has in insulting sacred believes of people. This is not freedom of speech. This is insult.

Baba Ramdev I have heard is very against the KFC/Mac and soft drinks, but he tells people that it is bad for health. It is making the kids in India weak. He asks the people to throw the Coke into toilet and never eat buger etc.
He has never asked to burn down Mac/Kfc etc

It is not just about KFC, it is about public reaction. Whenever you insult somebody's holy believes, you will deal will overly emotional responses and people will burn tires or cars in protest. It is common everywhere, even in the most civilized world.
The point is why do you insult someone's sacred believes?

You are obviously unaware of the furore created by Sikhs when a play showed them in bad light. They protested voilently and the play had to be taken off. happened in UK.

Yes, I am unaware of the example that you mention. And I guess that's due to the fact that it was an isolated incident restricted to an area in UK and not reported in the US/World media.
However, the big question thats raised in this thread is that why does the whole world think that Muslims will behave violently and is that kind of behavior/reaction justified ?

I agree that its not correct to insult some one's reigious beliefs. However, I also feel that the reaction has to be proportinonate to the insult. I have still not been able to understand why some illiterate Muslims in India destroyed Indian property because some guy in Denmark depicted the Prophet improperly in a cartoon

if a sacred hindu animal was being slaughtered as an insult to hindus, you'd see protests wherever there is sizeable hindu community!

Kill a cow and get lynched.
http://www.himalmag.com/2002/november/perspective_2.htm
However, not one of these mentions that the dalit-untouchables were forced to consume human excreta. Not one talks about dalits being lynched by a Hindu mob for skinning a cow.

This is a dalit-uppercaste issue, and dalits are also Hindus So 'someone insulted my religious beliefs' does not apply here. As usual, when you guys dont have any response, you try to obfuscate the issue by finger pointing, name calling or giving irrelevant examples.
Better examples would be of how Hindu Gods & Godesses have been depicted in western media and the kind of response from Hindus. Or even the various times MF Hussain (an India muslim) has improperly depicted Hindu deities and how Hindus have reacted.
Btw, nice job googling

Can you provide an example of when citizens of 3rd world countries (other than Muslims) have reacted the way Muslims normally do ?
