Frisky seeming goats and suggestive cucumbers... a window into AQ's psyche

Al Qaeda in Iraq alienated by cucumber laws and brutality

LAHORE: Besides the terrible killings inflicted by Al Qaeda on those who refuse to pledge allegiance to them, it has lost credibility for imposing a series of rules imposing their way of thought on the most mundane aspects of everyday life. They include a ban on women buying “suggestively-shaped” vegetables, according to one tribal leader in the western province of Anbar, according to the Daily Telegraph. Sheikh Hameed al-Hayyes, a Sunni elder, told Reuters: “They even killed female goats because their private parts were not covered and their tails were pointed upward, which they said was haram. “They regarded the cucumber as male and tomato as female. Women were not allowed to buy cucumbers, only men,” he added.

tomatoes were allowed out in the open only if the owner was with it, the rationale being that another person might see the tomato by itself and get the wrong thoughts. a person could simultaneously have only 4 tomatoes, which was problematic for some dishes.

Of course dailytimes of Pakistan is such a credible source of news. They only employ journalist with the highest capability and who are beyond reproach. I am sure they checked and double checked their resources for the stories and were certain that they were not planted by opposing factions or US.

Shouldn't this be discussed in depth in the R&S forum? A topic such as:

Is eating a dill pickle haram?

I'm sure there'll be hadees galore and insights into growing square cucumbers

Alqaeda's obsession with goats can be explained but 'what' and 'how' have they figured out with tomatoes ?

If they think women buying cucumbers is haram then men eating cucumbers should be executed publicly
