Movie looks good from its promos, songs are catchy and Katrina looks HOT
I have been waiting for this movie desperately, Akshay is really an all-rounder and can do anything
Who else is going to watch it

The reviews say to leave your brain at home if you want to enjoy this movie.
I don't think it's my type of comedy movie.
However, it has a couple of nice tracks.
Save Pakistan.

Overall Singh is King is a typical Akshay Kumar mindless entertainer which has a great first half, beautifully picturised songs and a gorgeous Katrina Kaif. But what makes Singh is King more worthwhile is Akshay Kumar, who holds the movie together, well supported by Om Puri.
If your are a die hard Akshay fan and enjoyed his movies like Welcome, Heyy Babyy last year, dont think twice.. Just go for it! Others can wait for the DVD.
Ill go with 3 on 5 for the most hyped movie of the year!

Just saw it. Pretty average stuff. 1st half is really poor. 2nd half has a few comic moments. The drinking scene is funny. Beats me how it is breaking all box office records.

The reason you saw the movie is exactly the reason why millions are seeing this movie.....and hence the box office records.
A big star movie, an appealing title and aggressive promos (showing foreign locales , catchy songs and mundane jokes) are all that is needed to make a Hindi movie a super-duper-hit these days.
And then there is this emergence of nouveau riche multiplex going class in India , who will check out any " chalegaa" kind of movie for time-pass entertainment , ensuring that producers get their money back more often than not.

Nah where I live there was no chance of catching it for atleast the next mnth. You can guess how I saw it.
Also I don't exactly agree with the reasons u give to explain why it has become a box office phenomenon. Publicity, a big star, decent songs etc are pretty much the norm nowadays. But that doesn't make everyone such film a blockbuster. I mean if u have a look at the rumoured collections, they are going berzerk. Its slated to pick up Rs 50 Cr in the first week itself. Moreover this particular film on the whole hasn't garnered particularly favourable reviews which does influence a significant section of the audience. So there has to be something additional to explain its runaway success.
I think a factor could be that the film identifies and connects strongly with a particular community. The sikh (or punjabi) community is big in numbers and are generally affluent and passionate people. And I suspect they are flocking to the theatres in hordes.
Thats possibly the reason why Gadar is still the biggest hit in Bollywood.

I watched it and it's not as good as one thinks it will be. I was kinda disappointed to be honest.
