For me 12'O clock high -1949 featuring Second World war, though the story centers around Gregory peck, and his emotional stress

The young lions-Once again second world war but from both Allied and Nazi angles.(1950's)

Blue Max- About one First world war pilot(1960's)

The bridges at TOKORI-About one pilot who is missioned to destroy a strategic bridge in Korea-During Korean War.His fear for death and amazing camera works.(1953)..You get to see some planes and choppers(primitive)in actions and events on an Aircraft Carrier.

I have a thing for war movies...I dont like the special special effects that make them look so unreal now like the movie 300 Spartans. But anyway feel wise the photography of Saving Private Ryan was amazing, especially the starting parts.
Troy was a good movies too esp the way they had deleted the "legends/Gods/godesses roles to be something realistic.
The Patriot another amazing movie.
With kingdom of heavan, I was a bit frustrated with their story

Only as much as I dream can I be.

^I also agree with you.The special effects make movies so artificial. But I love old war movies, they are more closer to realities.

Guns of Navarone was pretty decent. Closer home , Lakshya imo was good without resorting to cliches and dumbing down the other side.

Days of Glory. The only war movie to do character development and actions equally well.
